Microsoft previewed the next major release of Windows Phone. Code named ‘Mango’, this newest release brings a number of substantial improvements in both the software platform and developer tools

The spec sheet on the Nokia N8 mentions ‘Active Hyper-focal Distance’ as the method used by it during video capture and unless you did some research on your own, I’m sure all of you are wondering how exactly does it work (I was). In part 2 of the making of the N8′s camera ( part 1 was about photography ), Damian Dinning explains exactly how that works , and why Nokia chose it over continuous auto focus and focus at the beginning of the exposure.

The N97 Classic has just received an update in the form of a the v22.0.110 firmware. The update is a 4.9 MB download over the air and the new firmware will soon also be available via the Nokia Software Updater. In addition to bug fixes and general speed  improvements, v22 comes with Ovi Maps 3.3 pre-loaded so you don’t need to install it separately if you want free navigation

We’ve lately been getting our N8 fix pretty regularly and the latest video to show up is that of the N8’s multitasking abilities. The device features a completely new visual task manager which gives you an actual preview of the current state of the application right from the task manager’s thumbnails. If you have a number of apps open, it may be a little more time consuming to switch between applications because you might have to scroll a little to find the app you are looking for, but I have got to say it looks much nicer this way

You must have noticed the frenzied posting in the last 24 hours, four posts dedicated to the N97 Mini Trunk .

Our N97 Mini Trunk came with a Quill, a compass, a diary, an address book, some ink, a calculator and some other items, all of which can prove incredibly useful or amazingly useless in a quest for navigation.

After 12 hours of non stop video editing and almost 24 hours of non stop work on the N97 Mini Trunk Challenges, it looks like we might just be able to get all the challenges in before the deadline expires later today. Its Sunday today and the following videos should make for a bit of fun, specially the second one! We now have only two tasks left, Maps and Photos. Check back for them soon.

The N8 has been on everyone’s mind recently and over the last week, some interesting snippets about the N8 have come to light.
